Shipping Options
At Barefoot Nursery, we provide a variety of shipping options for our customers to choose from. You are responsible for selecting the shipping option that best meets your needs. Keep in mind that the selection of your shipping method is crucial for the health of your plants, particularly if you live in a region with varying temperatures.
Important Note: Barefoot Nursery is located in Southeast Florida, and we only recommend Ground shipping options for customers within the Southeastern United States. If you are located outside of this region, please choose the appropriate shipping option based on your location. If your weather is good but other areas of the country are not, Ground shipping forces your orchids to be driven through the areas with poor weather.
Responsibility for Shipping
Barefoot Nursery LLC. is not responsible for any lost or damaged packages once they are with the carrier. If your order is lost or damaged in transit, you should contact the carrier directly for any insurance claims. All packages are automatically given $100 of insurance. If you would like to inquire about a larger policy please contact us.
We do not give guaranteed arrival times. All dates that show are estimates based on our average handle time and the shipping option you chose. We will ship orchids within one week of purchase unless both the buy and Barefoot Nursery agree to a later date. After the carrier picks up your package we have no control over their delivery times.
Cold Weather Shipping Policy
We care about the health of your orchids, especially when it comes to extreme temperatures. If you are shipping during cold weather months, we have specific policies to ensure your plants arrive in optimal condition.
To avoid the risk of cold damage:
- 72-Hour Heat Pack: If you are shipping to a cold region, we recommend purchasing a 72-hour heat pack to ensure the plants stay warm during transit.
- 3-Day or Faster Shipping: If you choose to ship with a longer transit time (4 days or more), we cannot guarantee the health of your orchids. To ensure the safe arrival of your plants, we strongly suggest opting for 3-day or faster shipping methods.
Holding of orders: Holding of order is at the discretion of Barefoot Nursery LLC. and is not a guaranteed option. If both the customer and Barefoot Nursery LLC. agree to hold an order until more suitable weather is available the maximum amount of time we can hold an order in one month from the order date.
Important: Barefoot Nursery LLC does not offer refunds for cold damage if a heat pack was not purchased and if a shipping method longer than 3 days, Ground or Priority, was chosen. Please plan your purchase accordingly to avoid any issues.
