Cattleya schilleriana var. coerulea is an exceptionally rare, highly sought-after color form of one of Brazil's most revered dwarf species. Famous for its compact stature, wavy petal margins, and intoxicating perfume, the elusive coerulea (blue) variation replaces the typical bronze-red tones of the species with cool, slate-blue, steel-lavender, and indigo hues.

The heavy-substanced, waxy flowers feature narrow, gracefully undulating sepals and petals in an icy, pale slate-lavender to steel-coerulea base, often decorated with delicate blue-violet speckling or shading. Stealing the show is the species' signature broad, shovel-shaped lip, painted in a striking, deeply saturated indigo-blue with high-contrast white-and-yellow column veining radiating from the throat.
