Dendrobium signatum x friedericksianum
Dendrobium signatum x friedericksianum
This is a deciduous Dendrobium that produces a magnificent display. As the canes mature they will lose their leaves and bloom on the old leafless canes. Afterward, they still hold water and nutrients for the plant so do not cut them! The old canes can also produce keikis and give you lots of additional plants.
As of 2/1, these are fully leafless and preparing to create buds for an April flowering.
Seed grown so variation will occur. Flower pics are from the breeder of examples that have bloomed
These plants love to hang upside down as if they are growing from tree branches.
Med to bright indirect light and water every 1-3 days based on your environment's humidity, slightly dry in-between watering. Water less in winter, they like a minor winter rest, and water more as the plant is producing new growth.
