Galeopetalum (Gptm.) Hokulea (a captivating intergeneric cross combining Galeottia and Zygopetalum) is a striking, exotic novelty orchid prized for its intense color saturation, glossy floral texture, and dramatic contrast. Unlike Cattleya-alliance hybrids with similar cultivar names, this Zygopetalum-relatives cross brings a bold, terrestrial-epiphytic flair and incredible, complex lip patterning to any collection.
The plant produces tall, erect flower spikes bearing waxy, star-like flowers with glossy sepals and petals in rich shades of deep chocolate-brown, mahogany, or bronze-green. Stealing the spotlight is an expansive, broad lip dressed in a vibrant shade of velvety rich crimson to magenta-violet, intricately detailed with crisp white margins and striking radiating throat veining.
