Psygmorchis pusilla (now broadly classified under Erycina pusilla) is a captivating, miniaturized fan-shaped species highly prized by species collectors and micro-orchid enthusiasts. Native to humid lowland forests across Central and South America, this miniature jewel flowers extraordinarily early in its life cycle, often producing oversized blooms while still a tiny seedling.
Despite the plant's tiny footprint, it produces surprisingly large, waxy-textured flowers in a bright, glowing canary-yellow. The broad, deeply lobed lip dominates the bloom, beautifully accented by rich mahogany-red to chestnut-brown speckling and spotting around the central crest.
